I am honored to join The Forum on Workplace Inclusion with David Hunt, Ryan Polly, Michelle Wimes (she, her, hers) and Beverly M. Belton, MSN, RN to lead a session From Evidence to Action in Health Care: Assessments That Improve Diversity and Health Equity on March 28, 2023 4:00-5:30 pm CT.
BCT Partners, a Black-owned management consulting company, has developed a series of evidence-based assessment tools designed to improve workforce diversity, evaluate the quality and safety of language access services to Limited English Proficient, Deaf and Hard of Hearing patients and assess providers’ ability to deliver clinically competent care to a wide array of marginalized populations.
During this workshop, representatives of BCT Partners will describe these tools and ask health equity leaders from The Joint Commission, Children’s Mercy Hospital Kansas, and MaineHealth to explain how they are using them to achieve diversity and health equity improvements and guide the development of 3-5-year strategic DEI action plans.
Special attention will be given to discussing the results from BCT’s Provider Cross Cultural Medical Assessment (PCCMA), a diagnostic tool designed to identify which minority patient populations provider are best prepared and least prepared to treat based on population-specific, clinical best practices and current legal/regulatory requirements. This assessment has been administered to more than 8,000 providers across eight states yielding a rich national database of results.
The participants of this session will have an opportunity to explore how their organizations may utilize assessment data like this in their DEI and health equity strategic planning.
Learning Outcomes:
💙 Identify essential metrics and assessment tools to improve workforce diversity and the quality and safety of patient care.
💚 Learn how leading health care organizations have used these tools to turn evidence into action — and how they overcame obstacles along the way.
💛 Understand critical national trends emanating from these assessment tools.
Please come and see BCT Partners at the Market Place, Lounge 3, if you are planning to attend the Forum.
